Cornish Cross Meat Chickens
Farm-Raised Cornish Cross Chickens
At McKee Homestead, we raise Cornish Cross chickens specifically for high-quality meat production. Our birds are raised in carefully managed batches each spring and fall, allowing us to focus on healthy growth, proper care, and premium farm-fresh chicken for our customers.
Cornish Cross chickens are known for their excellent feed efficiency, tender meat, and consistent size — making them one of the most trusted meat birds for homesteads and small farms alike.
Our Raising Process
Our chickens begin life in a warm, protected brooder with constant access to feed and clean water. Once fully feathered and weather permits, they are moved to pasture-based pens where they have fresh air, natural sunlight, and access to fresh ground.
We prioritize:
- Clean living conditions
- Fresh water daily
- Quality feed for healthy growth
- Careful flock monitoring
- Low-stress handling practices
Our goal is simple: raise healthy birds responsibly while producing flavorful, high-quality chicken for your table.

Seasonal Availability
We currently raise two batches of meat chickens each year:
- Spring Batch
- Fall Batch
Because our birds are raised in limited seasonal groups, availability can sell out quickly. We encourage customers to reserve birds early once ordering opens.
What Makes Farm-Raised Chicken Different
Many customers appreciate the difference that locally raised chicken provides:
- Fresh, never factory-farmed
- Rich flavor and texture
- Raised with personal daily care
- Responsibly managed in small batches
- Direct from our homestead to your freezer
Our chickens are perfect for roasting, grilling, smoking, meal prep, and family dinners.
Whole Birds
We primarily offer whole chickens with processing weights that may vary slightly by batch. Birds are processed at an ideal size for both flavor and versatility in the kitchen.
Additional cut options may be offered in the future based on availability.
Reserve Your Birds
Due to limited batch sizes, we recommend reserving your chickens in advance. Follow our farm updates or contact us directly for current availability, pricing, and pickup information.
